Since we’re going to Canada for awhile, the girls can’t come with us. And this also means that they’re pretty well going to be fending for themselves. (Which isn’t really that big of a deal for us – we’re very hands-off beekeepers.) But this meant that we wanted to open up space in their hive to ensure no swarming, and we’re also switching them to Warre style, with honey supers on the bottom, rather than the top.
But what this means is that we got 2 quarts of honey and a small amount of delicious (and beautiful) cut comb!
